Budget food stamped with style is the name of the game at this bastion of heavenly southwestern French cooking. The two sunny yellow rooms are attractively set with linen napkins on well-spaced tables, which feature an assortment of products that are also for sale. At lunchtime the rooms are packed and can be rushed, but no wonder when you can have a choice of anything on the menu for a one-price-fits-all formula for your entrée, plat, and dessert. In the evening, everyone seems to calm down and settle in for a leisurely dinner with plenty of good wine. Everything looks appealing in this land of foie gras, including mushroom fricassée with tomato fondue, slender green beans tossed with gizzards, magret de canard with apple compote, goose cassoulet, and for dessert, a raisin baba au rhum or a white-and-bitter-chocolate parfait.
